KL Rahul, who fell first ball in the first innings, manages to block the first one this time around, from Suranga Lakmal. He then gets off the mark with a single from the fourth ball before hitting Lahiru Gamage for three fours in the next over.

Gamage overpitches as Rahul hits him for three boundaries straight down the ground, beating the fielder at mid-off on all three occasions to make a confident start.

Dhawan then plays a cracking drive off Lakmal but the fielder in the covers does well to stop the boundary. But he finds the gap a few deliveries later for a four to get off the mark in some style.

In the next over, Gamage drops short as Dhawan pulls it through midwicket for a four as India race to 22 for no loss in four overs.
