SL 263-8 (74 ovs) vs India 172 | Scorecard

It takes a Shami special to end Perera's vigil in the middle. The right-hander gets one which pitches just outside the off-side and moves away enough to take the edge as he is forced to have a poke.

Perera, who had a controversial reprieve early on through the DRS, is dismissed for five as Sri Lanka lose their eighth wicket.

Shami has been vital to India's superb comeback on Day 4, picking up three wickets in the morning session.

Herath pulls a short ball from Bhuvneshwar as Jadeja puts in a superb effort at deep midwicket to keep the ball inside the ropes and nearly effects a run out.

In the next over, Shami gets a short ball to take off quite a lot and move away as Dhawan stops it at first slip.

Herath is almost waiting for the short ball as he pulls Shami to deep square leg for one and Suranga Lakmal takes a single to get off the mark.

Bhuvneshwar rocks Lakmal with a quick bouncer which strikes him on the helmet as he attempts the pull. The next ball is again short and he again goes for the pull but misses.

However, he connects on the third attempt as Lakmal pulls it over midwicket for a four to bring up Sri Lanka's 250.

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin comes into the attack in the 73rd over to bowl only his fifth over. He bowls a tidy over as Lakmal watchfully defends him with lunch close.

Umesh comes back as Herath continues to play positively. He flashes hard at a wide one from Umesh only to get an edge which flies over the slips for a four to take his score into the 40s.

He glances the next ball off his pads to fine leg for one before Lakmal nearly lobs one back to the bowler.

Umesh bowls a short ball which doesn't rise as much and Lakmal pulls it comfortably over midwicket for a four as Sri Lanka go into lunch with a handy of 91 runs.
