Hardik Pandya and Mahendra Singh Dhoni hit half-centuries to lead India's superb recovery after a horror start and power them to 281 for seven in their 50 overs.

India were reeling on 87 for five before Pandya stroked 83 from 66 balls, adding 118 runs for the sixth wicket with Dhoni.

Dhoni started off cautiously before he cut loose at the end to hit 79 from 88 balls, while Bhuvneshwar stroked a quickfire 32 from 30 balls.

For Australia, Nathan Coulter-Nile claimed three for 44, while Marcus Stoinis picked up two for 54.
