England 177-3 (56 ovs) vs India | Scorecard

Shami, who bowled an impressive spell after lunch, will start off with the ball in the post-tea session.

He is on the mark straightaway as Bairstow is forced to poke at a wide delivery only to get an edge which flies past the slips for a four.

Three balls later, he again gets a thick edge but it goes on the bounce to Rahane at third slip, who does well to stop it and seems to have injured his fingers.

Bairstow keeps strike with a quick single on the leg side off the last ball.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya from the other end. He starts with a bouncer but Bairstow has enough time to duck under it before he turns the next ball on the leg side for one.

A half-volley on the pads is flicked through midwicket by Root for a boundary and the last ball, which is short down the leg side, is pulled fine for the same result as Root ends the over with back to back fours.
