England 127-3 (43 ovs) vs India | Scorecard

Ashwin comes back as India look to seize the momentum and pick up another wicket or two.

He drops it slightly short as Bairstow hits it past point for three runs. Ashwin then gifts Root a full toss in his attempt to bowl the carrom ball which the right-hander drives through the covers for a four.

He is hit on the pads trying to hit it across the line but the leg before wicket appeal is turned down.

Shami bowls a beauty, getting a lot of movement, as Bairstow chases it and is beaten, he is lucky not to have edged it.

Root does well to keep the incoming delivery out before he takes one off the last ball to retain strike.

Just a couple of overs for Ashwin before he is replaced by Ishant. Root bring up his half-century from 107 balls with a single from the fifth ball, and continue his superb run against India in Tests.
