England 217-4 (63 ovs) vs India | Scorecard

Ashwin comes into the attack. Bairstow continues the flow of runs as he guides the first ball fine on the off-side for a four.

That brings up the 100-run stand for the fourth wicket from 137 balls, with Bairstow being a major contributor with 64 from 78 balls.

But against the run of play, India strike with the key wicket of Root, who is run out for 80.

An unfortunate dismissal for England as Root is caught short, trying to respond for the call for a second run from Bairstow on the leg side. And to his credit, India captain Kohli did well to chase the ball and release it quickly and more importantly at the right end, with Root struggling to make his crease as the throw hit the stumps directly.

A moment of magic from the captain himself to dismiss his opposite number and he will hope his bowlers can grab the momentum and look to take another wicket or two.
