Surprise move from Kohli as Ashwin continues with the new ball. Head comes down the track and drives Ashwin to long-off for one followed by a single to Mitchell Starc to get him off the mark.
Head drives the last ball on the leg side for another single to help him retain the strike.
In the next over, the left-hander turns the first ball from Bumrah square on the leg side for a couple before he slashes at a wide ball but is beaten.
Starc throws his bat as he miscues it on the off-side but manages to clear Ishant inside the circle and gets two runs before he defends the rest of the over.
Bumrah gets the ball to kick off extra as Head goes for the cut shot but is beaten again and is lucky not to have edged it.
Two overs left in the day as Shami gets his first crack with the second new ball, ahead of Ishant.
The first ball is full as Starc goes for the drive but gets a thick outside edge past the slips for a four.
A slightly short ball is punched to deep point by Starc for a single and Head plays the cut shot two balls later for another run.
