WI 86-3 (31.3 ovs) vs India | Scorecard

The West Indies top order again failed to deliver as the visitors lost early wickets and were reduced to 86 for three at lunch on Day 1 of the second Test in Hyderabad.

Kieran Powell stroked his way to 22 before he was caught in the covers off Ravichandran Ashwin, before Kraigg Brathwaite was trapped leg before wicket by Kuldeep Yadav for 14.

Umesh Yadav claimed the wicket of Shai Hope with the final delivery of the morning session as the right-hander was dismissed leg before for 36.

For India, the only setback in the first session was debutant Shardul Thakur walking off with a groin injury after bowling just 10 deliveries.

Earlier, West Indies captain Jason Holder won the toss and elected to bat in the second and final Test as they chase a series-levelling victory.

The tourists, thumped inside three days by an innings and 272 runs in the Rajkot series-opener, made two changes with Holder returning from injury to replace Keemo Paul and spinner Jomel Warrican substituting Sherman Lewis.

India rested Mohammed Shami and handed a Test debut to fellow paceman Shardul Thakur in the lone change to their side.
