India 174-6 (51 ovs) vs Eng 332 | Scorecard

England's pacers chipped away at the wickets to reduce to India to 174 for six in their first innings at stumps on Day 2 in the fifth and final Test.

Just like Day 1, the wickets fell in a heap in the post-tea session as India lost five wickets after the tea interval, while scoring 121 runs in 33 overs, as the hosts gained the upperhand.

India still trail England by 158 runs after the hosts had earlier recovered to post 332 courtesy of birthday boy Jos Buttler's positive knock of 89.

At stumps on Day 2, debutant Hanuma Vihari, who survived a few close LBW shouts, finished unbeaten on 25, while Ravindra Jadeja was not out on eight.

Veteran pacer James Anderson had put England in control as he took two for 20 in 11 overs, including the two key wickets of Cheteshwar Pujara (37) and Ajinkya Rahane (0) in successive overs, both caught behind.

Captain Virat Kohli once again looked good, as he stroked his way to a fluent 49, before Ben Stokes had him caught in the slips. The all-rounder then dismissed the young Rishabh Pant, dismissed in a similar fashion for five.

India's openers also failed to fire as Shikhar Dhawan was trapped leg before wicket by Stuart Broad for three, while KL Rahul was bowled by Sam Curran for 37.
