Afg 86-2 (20 ovs) vs England 397-6 | Scorecard

Rahmat taps Moeen into the covers for a single before Shahidi comes down the track and drives it to long-off for one.

Rahmat has had enough of the blocking as he comes down the track and lofts it over long-off for a six before slapping the next to long-on for one.

Ben Stokes comes into the attack as Wood is given a break after a superb first spell of one for seven in three overs.

The first ball comes in as Rahmat fails to connect and is hit on the thigh pad before he gets an inside edge for a single to square leg.

Shahidi then hits a wide delivery through point for two runs before he is beaten as he pokes at a wide delivery.

In the next over, Rahmat gets an edge off Moeen which goes through the vacant slip region for a four. Defending a target of nearly 400, England still not feeling confident to have a fielder or two in the slips.

A single to Rahmat to long-on before Shahidi defends the last two balls.

England have held their frontline spinner Adil Rashid, aiming to give Moeen much needed-match practice ahead of the important games coming up in the latter half of the World Cup.

Stokes also needs to get his bowling in the groove as he is also called into the attack early. He bowls another tidy over, conceding just six runs from his two overs.

Afghanistan struggle to 86 for two in 20 overs, with Rahmat on 34 and Shahidi on 12.
