India 17-2 (4 ovs) vs NZ | Scorecard

Kohli gets going as he drives a full wide delivery Southee through the covers for a wonderful boundary.

He then takes a single before Dhawan plays a cracking cover drive but the fielder does well to save some runs with a diving stop.

In the next over, Boult cuts Dhawan in half with another splendid delivery which comes in sharply and goes in the gap between bat and pads. The Kiwis all go up in appeal for caught behind but the umpire is not interested before they take the DRS.

The UltraEdge shows some spike as the ball passes the bat and Dhawan is ruled out caught behind for two.

Both the openers have perished cheaply as India find themselves in early trouble on 10 for two, in the fourth over.

Interestingly, KL Rahul walks in at No 4. With Vijay Shankar out with injury, this is an ideal opportunity for Rahul to strengthen his case to be included in the starting XI.

Rahul picks a leg bye as Boult drifts on the pads before Kohli picks one as the fielder at square leg misfields.

Rahul then steers a wide delivery to thirdman to get off the mark with a single.

Kohli then gets a big stride forward and drills a wide half volley through the covers for a boundary, he is looking in good touch.
