India captain Virat Kohli has won the toss and elected to bowl against South Africa in the second T20 International in Mohali.

"It is very difficult to defend here," reasons Kohli at the toss.

India have left out KL Rahul, Manish Pandey, Khaleel Ahmed and Rahul Chahar.

Rohit Sharma will open the batting with Shikhar Dhawan, while Shreyas Iyer will hope to strengthen his case in the middle order.

India have been boosted by the return of all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who will also play a vital role with the ball.

No wrist spin for India as Ravindra Jadeja, Krunal Pandya and Washington Sundar are the three preferred spinners, who are also quite capable with the bat, along with the pace duo of Deepak Chahar and Navdeep Saini.

The first match in Dharamsala was washed out because of heavy rain.

South Africa have fielded three debutants in Anrich Nortje, Bjorn Fortuin and Temba Bavuma.
