19:50   KKR down Sunrisers in the Super Over

KKR beat Sunrisers in the Super Over

Sunrisers will bat first in the Super Over.

No surprise that David Warner is coming out to bat along with Jonny Bairstow.

Lockie Ferguson with the ball for KKR. And the Kiwi paceman strikes first ball with the big wicket of Warner, who tries to run it down to thirdman but misses and is bowled for a duck.

Abdul Samad is the next man in for SRH.

The youngster has a big swing but can only slap it back past the bowler for two runs. Infact, Bairstow was lucky that the fielder missed the direct hit as he was struggling to make his crease.

However, Ferguson strikes again with the slower ball as Samad looks to heave it over the leg side but is completely done in by the slower ball.

KKR need just three runs to win the Super Over

Ferguson took 3-15 in four overs in the Sunrisers innings earlier on before he struck a double blow in the Super Over to put KKR on course for victory.

KKR have sent out their two most experienced players out to bat in captain Morgan and Karthik.

Rashid Khan to bowl for SRH.

Morgan reverse sweeps the first ball but can't get it past short thirdman before he sweeps the next to deep midwicket for a single.

A full delivery on the stumps as Karthik taps it on the leg side for a dot ball.

However, the last ball is on the pads as Karthik misses the clip but it brushes the pads and goes fine for two leg byes as KKR emerge victorious.

19:34   KKR v SRH match tied; Super Over to decide winner

Sunrisers 163-6 (20 ovs) vs KKR 163-5

Mavi to bowl the 19th over.

He starts with a short wide delivery as Samad slashes it over point for a four and then smashes the next down the ground for a single to long-off.

Mavi pitches it up as Warner manages to loft it over the fielder at mid-off for another boundary.

The young pacer tries the slower ball as Warner slaps it through the covers for one and Samad picks two runs off the fifth ball on the leg side.

The last ball is a full toss as Samad flicks it over the leg side with Ferguson taking it on the edge of the boundary at deep midwicket and as he loses his balance over the ropes, he flicks it back to Shubman Gill, who completes the easy catch.

A crucial blow for KKR as not only did Fergsuon play his role in the wicket of Samad, but also prevented the six, which would have made things easier for Sunrisers in the final over.

Samad walks back after a quickfire 23 from 15 balls. All on Warner now, with Sunrisers needing 18 from final over for victory.

Andre Russell to bowl the final over. He starts from round the wicket and starts with a big wide to Rashid Khan outside the off-stump.

To make matters worse for KKR, Russell has overstepped to gift SRH a free hit. Rashid hits the free hit delivery, a full toss, straight into the hands of Tripathi at deep midwicket just for a single but importantly it brings Warner back on strike.

Russell drifts on the pads as Warner clips it past short fine leg for a four and then hammers the third ball straight down the ground for another boundary.

The match is still evenly poised with SRH needing eight from the last three balls for victory.

Russell goes for the slower ball but it is bit too straight as Warner clips it through square leg for another four, the third in succession.

He goes for another heave on the leg side but this time he gets a thick inside edge for two runs to midwicket with another couple needed for victory.

Warner is unable to get the clip away off the last ball and is hit on the pads but he manages to steal the leg bye for one to take it into the Super Over as the match ends in a tie!

Warner was single-handedly responsible for taking the game into the Super Over with his unbeaten 47 from 33 balls, scoring 19 runs from the last seven balls.

19:24   Captain Warner keeps SRH's hopes alive

Sunrisers 134-5 (18 ovs) vs KKR 163-5

Chakravarthy, who has one over in hand, comes back into the attack.

Warner flicks the first ball over square leg as Tripathi puts in the desperate full length dive to prevent the boundary and keep it down to two runs and he punches the next ball into the covers for just one.

Samad then blocks the third ball on the off-side before he comes down the track and smashes it to the left of long-off for a four.

KKR's best bowler of the day Ferguson, who took 3-8 in his first three overs, comes back for his final spell.

Samad is deceived by the slower ball first up before he drives the next over the covers for two runs.

Good deception again from Ferguson as he beats the young Samad with the wide yorker which is slower in pace. He then slices the next ball square as Russell at point fails to hold on to the sharp chance.

Ferguson bowls a high full toss which Warner is not able to get under as he hits it to deep midwicket for two runs and picks another couple wide of long-on.

Sunrisers are 134-5 in 18 overs, needing 30 from 2 overs for victory.

19:15   Captain Warner keeps SRH's hopes alive

Sunrisers 117-5 (16 ovs) vs KKR 163-5

Kuldeep starts his third over with a wide to Warner before he hits the next to long-on for a single, where Russell comes charging and seems to have injured his hamstring and has to go off the field.

Shankar does well to clip Kuldeep behind square on the leg side and rushes back for the second and then takes a single.

Warner takes the risk as he plays the reverse sweep which he fails to connect properly but manages to get it over Chakravarthy at short thirdman, followed by singles off the last two balls.

The match is set for a thrilling finish as Sunrisers reach 109-4 in 15 overs, with 55 needed from five overs for victory.

Cummins to continue with the ball.

Shankar fails to get a run off the first ball before he tries to hoick the next over the leg side but ends up slicing it on the off-side and is caught by Gill for seven.

A poor shot under the circumstances from Shankar when he should have been looking to rotate the strike and give Warner support.

Abdul Samad pulls the next ball on the leg side for two runs as he fails to get hold of it. However, two balls later Samad smashes another short ball in thumping fashion over midwicket for a six.

Sunrisers are 117-5 in 16 overs, needing 47 from four overs for victory. Their hopes rest largely on captain Warner, who is batting on 19 from 21 balls, while Samad is also quite capable with the bat.

The asking rate has gone over 10, with 75 needed from seven overs for victory.

Cummins comes back into the attack. The first ball is down the leg side as Warner tries the glance with the ball going fine off his pads for four leg byes.

Warner picks a single to bring up his 5000 runs in the IPL before Shankar nearly drags it back on to his stumps.

Shankar pulls the short ball on the leg side for one before Warner lofts the full delivery over mid-off for a four.

He then misses the pull but gets an inside edge on the pads for a single as Sunrisers reach 100-4 in 14 overs, needing 64 from six overs for victory.

18:48   Ferguson triggers Sunrisers collapse

Sunrisers 82-4 (12 ovs) vs KKR 163-5

Kuldeep Yadav comes into the attack. He should have had a wicket off the first ball as Warner comes down the track and is beaten in the flight but survives the stumping chance. Warner was lucky that the ball went off the pads to put off wicketkeeper Karthik.

Pandey taps the next ball into the covers and takes a quick single.

Warner drills a wide half-volley past the fielder in the covers for two runs, followed by singles off the last two balls as six runs come from Kuldeep's first over.

Ferguson comes back into the attack and the pacer continues his wicket ways.

Warner is nearly done in by the yorker which comes in sharply and strikes him on the toes as he gets a leg bye.

The next ball is another lethal yorker and this time Pandey fails to keep it out and is bowled for six.

Three wickets for Ferguson as Sunrisers slip to 82-4, in the 12th over.

Vijay Shankar gets off the mark with a single to thirdman before Warner clips the fifth ball through midwicket for two runs.

Ferguson has incredible figures of 3-8 in three overs, to pick a wicket each of his three overs, to leave Sunrisers reeling.

18:37   Ferguson triggers Sunrisers collapse

Sunrisers 74-3 (10 ovs) vs KKR 163-5

Ferguson continues as Garg takes a risky single off the first ball, after hitting it straight to the fielder at midwicket, who misses the direct hit.

Bairstow picks a single on the off-side before Ferguson strikes again in his next over.

The slower ball beats Garg all ends up as he makes room and looks to flay it through the off-side. He misses the ball completely and is bowled by the slower ball for four.

Warner walks in at No 4 as Ferguson's double strike has put KKR back into the contest.

The Kiwi pacer has taken 2-4 in two overs, with SRH reduced to 70-2 in nine overs.

Sunrisers are losing their way after a good start with wickets falling at regular intervals.

Bairstow looks to loft Chakravarthy down the ground but fails to clear the boundary and is caught by Russell at long-off to perish for 36 from 28 balls.

Manish Pandey gets off the mark with two runs through the covers and then gets a single through point.

Warner drives the fifth ball through the covers for one to get off the mark before Pandey is beaten off the last ball.

At the halfway stage, Sunrisers are reduced to 74-3 in 10 overs, needing 90 from the remaining 10 overs for victory.

18:28   Ferguson's double strike rocks Sunrisers

Sunrisers 68-1 (8 ovs) vs KKR 163-5

Lockie Ferguson strikes with his first delivery in IPL 2020 with the wicket of his New Zealand captain Williamson.

Williamson, who hit 29 from 19 balls, guided a short wide delivery straight to Nitish Rana on the thirdman fence.

Priyam Garg walks in at No 3 as captain Warner holds himself back in the batting order.

Garg runs the fourth ball fine on the off-side for a single and Bairstow is beaten trying to cut before he takes a single off the last ball.

A perfect start for Ferguson with the ball in IPL 2020 as he picks up the wicket of Williamson and concedes just two runs in his opening over.

Chakravrathy comes back into the attack.

The two batsmen do well to pick singles from the first four balls before Bairstow cuts a short ball past point for a four. He tries to cut the last ball but this time he gets the bottom edge on the bounce to the wicketkeeper.

Sunrisers in control on 68-1 in eight overs.

14:38   Can KKR get back to winning ways against SRH?

Welcome to the coverage of the Indian Premier League match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders, in Abu Dhabi, on Sunday.

A new captain in the saddle, Kolkata Knight Riders would look to sort out their batting woes and strive for consistency when they face Sunrisers Hyderabad.

After a string of below par performances, Dinesh Karthik handed over the reins to his deputy Eoin Morgan hours before KKR's match against Mumbai Indians on Friday. But the World Cup-winning England captain's campaign as leader got off to a disappointing start with Mumbai Indians handing KKR an eight-wicket mauling.

KKR are still in the top four of the IPL points table behind Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore with four wins and as many defeats.

For KKR, opener Shubhman Gill has failed to capitalise on his starts, while Rahul Tripathi has not gone past the 20-run mark after his brilliant 81 against the Chennai Super Kings.

Nitish Rana has been profligate and Karthik's batting slot has been experimented with throughout the tournament. Andre Russell and Morgan have also not been able to make the kind of impact expected from players of their calibre.

The KKR bowlers did well to fashion narrow victories against Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings, but leaked runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai.

The Sunrisers, who occupy the fifth spot on the points table with just three wins from eight outings, are also struggling. With the injuries ruling out pace spearhead Bhuvneshwar Kumar and all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, the Orange Army is facing a conundrum of whether to strengthen their batting or their bowling unit, a fact that skipper David Warner conceded.

The team heavily relies on its batting unit, mainly on the top four comprising Jonny Bairstow, Warner, Manish Pandey and Kane Williamson.

A cause of concern for the Sunrisers is Rashid Khan's form. After returning impressive figures like 3/14, 0/12, 3/12, the Afghan leg- spinner remained ineffective in the team's last two losses.
