India 267-3 (85 ovs) vs England | Scorecard

Kohli and Rahul have a mix-up as they attempt a quick single but in the end they make the single easily as the fielder at point misfields.

The next ball from Anderson is short as Rahul rocks back and slaps it past point for a four before taking a single to point.

Some extra bounce for Anderson as Kohli gets the edge but it falls short of the slips.

However, the India captain luck runs out as he falls in the next over.

Kohli pokes his bat outside the off-stump and gets the edge to be caught by Joe Root for 42, after he put on 117 runs for the third wicket with Rahul.

That is a huge boost for England late on the first day as they make the new ball count.

No nightwatchman for India as Ajinkya Rahane comes in at No 5.
