NZ 104-1 (18 ovs) vs India 219 | Scorecard

It is still drizzling at the Hagley Oval but the fans are patiently waiting in the stands, braving the cold, while hoping the match could resume.

New Zealand are way ahead in the Duckworth-Lewis calculations, but for that to come into effect we need  a minimum 20 overs to completed in the New Zealand innings.

So that means even if 10 minutes of play is possible then we could have two overs needed to complete the 20 overs and constitute a game.

Veteran Tim Southee opens the bowling for New Zealand. The first ball is wide of the stumps as Dhawan leaves before he guides the next to thirdman for a single to get off the mark.

Gill defends the next ball on the leg side followed by a leave before the right-hander is beaten trying to drive through the off-side.

He plays and misses again off the last ball to end a good first over from Southee.

Matt Henry from the other end. Dhawan defends the first ball on the off-side before he is beaten next ball by one which slants away from the India captain.

He comes down the track to slice Henry over the off-side as the ball flies across the turf for the first boundary of the Indian innings and clips the last ball for a single through square leg for two runs.

Southee continues as Gill misses the flick but picks up a leg bye. Dhawan is beaten next ball as he tries to ramp it over the wicketkeeper before he comes down and lofts the fourth ball over long-on for a six and then picks a single.
06:52   New Zealand replace Bracewell with Milne
India retain the same playing XI which means left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav doesn't get a single game in the entire tour.

Sanju Samson is also unlucky to miss out as India persist with Rishabh Pant despite the left-hander struggling for runs.

Check out the playing XIs of the two teams:
New Zealand:
Kane Williamson (captain), Finn Allen, Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham (w/k), Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, Adam Milne, Matt Henry, Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson.

India: Shikhar Dhawan (captain), Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant(w), Deepak Hooda, Washington Sundar, Deepak Chahar, Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal.
06:49   NZ elect to bowl; India unchanged

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson has won the toss and elected to bowl against India in the third and final ODI at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.

Interestingly, India have gone in with an unchanged playing XI from the second ODI which was washed out after just 12.5 overs.

Meanwhile, New Zealand have made one change looking at the conditions as Adam Milne replaces spinner Michael Bracewell on a pitch which looks to have some assistance for the seam bowlers.
06:35   Rain delays toss in Christchurch

The drizzle has stopped as the groundstaff work on taking off the covers and it won't be long before we have the toss.

The players from the two teams are doing some warm ups.

The weather forecast is not too encouraging for the rest of the day.

"High cloud, then occasional rain developing from midday, possibly heavy. Northwesterlies turning fresh southerly this afternoon, strong about Banks Peninsula," says the MetService forecast.

06:27   Rain delays start of 3rd NZ vs India ODI

Welcome to the coverage of the third and final One-Day International between New Zealand and India in Christchurch on Wednesday.

The weather is once again set to play spoilsport with rain set to delay the toss and start of the final match.

India, who are down 0-1, will be desperate for the weather to improve and the match to get underway.

New Zealand chased down a huge target to win the first ODI by seven wickets before the second match in Hamilton was abandoned after just 12.5 overs in the Indian innings because of heavy rain.
