Miandad blasts India pull-out

Pakistan coach Javed Miandad has criticised India for its late withdrawal from the Sahara Cup tournament, which was scheduled to be held in Toronto next month.

Miandad, who himself has been pushed into a corner for his alleged greed for more money as coach, termed the Indian government's decision to cancel the annual series against his country a big letdown for Asian cricket, and said it will damage India's credibility in international cricket.

Reports reaching here indicate that Miandad is himself likely to get the sack, following his absence from a coaching camp now on for the Toronto hopefuls. However, the sword over his head has not stopped him from announcing that he was looking forward to the tour, and that he was busy preparing his team for it.

Miandad alleged that India was prepared to play Pakistan in Australia last year only because it knew that any talk of withdrawal would have put India in a tight spot.
