Confident Proteas ready for Singapore Challenge

Having come from behind to square the Super Challenge series against Australia with a dramatic tie in the second game and a fine win in the third, South Africa hope to finish their three-month road show with a win in the Singapore Challenge triangular involving Pakistan and New Zealand.

"Knowing this is our last week before we go home helps, our confidence is high," said skipper Shaun Pollock.

In the last three months, the Proteas drew a Test series against Lanka, followed by the historic first ever one day series played indoors, in the Colonial Stadium in Australia.

Attrition, however, has taken its toll with wicketkeeper Mark Boucher out of the Singapore Challenge through injury. Replacement Nic Pothas, then touring the West Indies with the A squad, has been flown in to Singapore as replacement.

Jonty Rhodes, suffering a thigh strain that saw him sit out the third ODI against Australia, will also be missing.

South Africa will play Pakistan on Wednesday and New Zealand on Friday, with the final being scheduled for Sunday.
