South Africa coast to seven-wicket win

South Africa wrapped up the three-match Test series against New Zealand on Monday when they won the second Test by seven wickets.

Resuming the final day on 29 for one in pursuit of a modest 86-run target, they spent 22 overs knocking off the required runs.

Opener Gary Kirsten hit the winning boundary, taking South Africa to 89 for three. He finished unbeaten on 47.

Jacques Kallis reached 2,500 runs in Tests before top-edging a hook off seamer Chris Martin to Shayne O'Connor at fine leg when he had made 23.

Six overs later Daryll Cullinan missed a straight delivery from paceman Kerry Walmsley and was bowled for 11.

The South Africans won the first Test in Bloemfontein by five wickets
