Bangladesh to host under-17 Asia Cup

Bangladesh will host the second ICC Under-17 Asia Cup cricket tournament in February, a senior cricket offical said on Saturday.

"We have not fixed the schedule yet, but it will be held in February and we have started preparations," Mahmudul Ul Haq Manu, the joint secretary of the Bangladesh Cricket Board said.

The 12-nation competition is part of the ICC's cricket development programme in Asia. An inaugural tournament was held in Karachi earlier this year.

Bangladesh won the opportunity to host the second tournament ahead of Sri Lanka and Singapore.

The preliminary rounds of the tournament are to be held in Rajshahi, Rangpur and Chittagong with Dhaka hosting the final, BCB officials said.
