Three new players in Windies' one-day squad

Ricardo Powell Leeward Islands' batsman Sylvester Joseph and hard-hitting Jamaicans Laurie Williams and Ricardo Powell have been drafted into the West Indies' one-day squad to contest a triangular one-day international series involving Australia and Zimbabwe in Australia early next year.

Announcing the squad in Adelaide on Tuesday, the West Indies Cricket Board said four players currently touring with the Test squad would return to the Caribbean at the end of the current five-Test series early January.

They are Ramnaresh Sarwan, Courtney Browne, Kerry Jeremy and Courtney Walsh.

Injured batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who was sidelined after the first Test in Brisbane, will return to the West Indies later this week to recuperate after having major surgery on a foot.

The 15-man squad for the triangular limited-overs series, starting in Melbourne January 11, is:
Jimmy Adams (capt), Sherwin Campbell, Daren Ganga, Brian Lara, Wavell Hinds, Marlon Samuels, Sylvester Joseph, Ridley Jacobs, Laurie Williams, Mervyn Dillon, Nixon McLean, Marlon Black, Ricardo Powell, Mahendra Nagamootoo, Colin Stuart.
