Australian squad for fourth Test against the West Indies

Australian selectors Wednesday recalled injured captain Steve Waugh and paceman Brett Lee to an enlarged squad for the Boxing Day Test against the West Indies in Melbourne.

Selectors named a 14-man squad, with Waugh and Lee subject to fitness checks when they arrive in Melbourne on Saturday.

Steve Waugh Waugh will captain the team if he overcomes a buttock muscle injury, otherwise Adam Gilchrist will retain the captaincy after leading Australia to a series-winning victory in Adelaide on Tuesday.

Lee has to prove that he has overcome stress problems in his back which also forced him to miss the Adelaide Test.

The pair will be assessed on an ongoing basis in Melbourne as Australia attempts to stretch its world record winning streak to 14 matches.
