"In a month's time we will have a media manager"

"I want to clear a misconception. We are only strengthening our back-up office in Mumbai, its only backbone work. The honorary secretary and all the other secretaries will stay. In a month's time the media manager and the other appointments will be made. A few names have been shortlisted and in a months time we will have a media manager" said Dr. Muthiah.

Saturday's meeting was a general discussion and the itinerary for the ODIs between India and Australia will be finalised on the 22nd of January when the working committee meets in Delhi.

"Bindra's letter was discussed and we will go ahead with the procedure. We have given a show cause notice to which he has replied. The disciplinary committee will call him before the 12th of Jan. The informal meeting also discussed the rotation policy of the venues," stated the board president.

Replying to the query of India's tour to Pakistan he said that he had sent a letter to the External Affairs ministry to rethink the decision. "We hope to get a reply from the government at the earliest," he added.

Dr Muthiah however was clueless when asked why Sachin Tendulkar and Ajit Agarkar had opted out of the Duleep Trophy tie despite the board's insistence that all players should participate in doemestic fixtures. He was unaware that the new Indian coach John Wright had suggested that the Sachin and Ajit should skip the game becasue it was pretty close to the series against Australia.
