Bangladesh offer to play Pakistan

Pakistan have been invited to play Bangladesh after their expected series with India was called off, a senior Bangladesh Cricket Board official said on Wednesday.

An Indian sports ministry official said in New Delhi on Wednesday that the Indian team's tour of Pakistan, scheduled from December to February, had been scrapped.

In the light of that decision, BCB general secretary Syed Ashraful Huq said that Bangladesh had offered to play Pakistan on a home and away basis.

"Pakistan would tour Bangladesh to play two Tests and two one-dayers and then we would go to Pakistan immediately to play an equal number of Tests and one-day matches," he said.

"The itinerary will be finalised during the meeting of the Asian Cricket Conference at Sharjah on November 22," Huq said.

Bangladesh, who got Test status in June, played their maiden Test against India this week -- losing by nine wickets on Monday with one day to spare.
