Non-bailable arrest warrant
against Bedi

A Patiala court on Saturday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against former Test cricketer Bishen Singh Bedi for his failure to appear before it in a defamation case.

Judicial magistrate M D S Dhillon, hearing the case filed by the Punjab Cricket Association secretary M P Pandove, fixed Janaury 20 for further hearing.

Pandove had alleged that Bedi had levelled "baseless and false allegations of irregularities, mismanagement and lack of integrity" against him, PCA president I S Bindra, and other officials of the association, in an interview to a Jalandhar-based newspaper in May 1995.
