Reconsider decision on Pak tour, says ACC

A three-member Asian Cricket Council delegation will meet the Indian government to seek a review of New Delhi's decision not to allow the scheduled tour of Pakistan by the Indian cricket team in December-January this year.

The ACC, at its special general meeting in Sharjah on Thursday, unanimously appealed to the Indian government to reconsider its decision to cancel the tour of Pakistan in the interest of the game, Council sources said in Dubai on Friday.

The ACC felt that the tour should be allowed to encourage the use of sports as a medium to promote regional harmony and co-operation.

The delegation, led by Bangladesh Cricket Board president Saber Hossain Chowdhury, which also includes Sri Lankan board president Thilanga Sumathipala and chief of the Malaysia Cricket Association H R H Tunko Imran, also the vice-president of the ACC, will meet the appropriate officials in the Indian government to communicate the view of its members, the sources said.
