MacGill stays in Aussie team

Leg-spinner Stuart MacGill beat paceman Andy Bichel to the fourth specialist bowling position in the Australian side, clashing with West Indies in the second cricket Test startng on Friday.

Team officials announced Thursday the Australian attack would comprise speedsters Glenn McGrath, Brett Lee and Jason Gillespie, supported by MacGill.

It will be MacGill's first Test on the WACA ground, where he learned his senior cricket before transferring to New South Wales five years ago.

Bichel, who along with MacGill played in the first Test in Brisbane last weekend, has been relegated to 12th man duties.

The teams:

Australia: Steve Waugh (capt), Adam Gilchrist (vice-capt), Jason Gillespie, Matthew Hayden, Justin Langer, Brett Lee, Stuart MacGill, Glenn McGrath, Ricky Ponting, Michael Slater, Mark Waugh, Andy Bichel (12th man).

West Indies (from): Jimmy Adams (capt), Sherwin Campbell (vice-captain), Marlon Black, Courtney Browne, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Mervyn Dillon, Daren (Daren) Ganga, Kerry Jeremy, Wavell Hinds, Ridley Jacobs, Brian Lara, Nixon McLean, Mahendra Nagamootoo, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Colin Stuart, Courtney Walsh.
