Fresh arrest warrant against Bedi

A local court today issued fresh arrest warrant against former cricketer Bishen Singh Bedi in a case filed against him by Punjab Cricket Association (PCA).

Since the arrest warrant issued on October 11 for today could not be served on him, sessions judge M D S Dhillon ordered issuance of fresh arrest warrant against Bedi for November 18.

PCA secretary M P Pandove had filed the case against Bedi, former coach of the state Ranji team.

Pandove charged Bedi with irregularities in fulfilling his contract and making alleged defamatory statements against him in an interview to a Hindi newspaper.

Dronacharya awardee Desh Prem Azad and Punjab's former test opener Navjot Sidhu are among the eight witnesses of PCA.
