BCCI has open mind on coach's appointment

The Board of Control for Cricket in India still has its options on the appointment of a coach for the Indian cricket team open, says its president A C Muthiah.

"The board still has an open mind on the appointment of the coach, and we have call three probables for discussion on October 23," Muthiah said while dismissing reports that the BCCI has narrowed down its choice to John Wright of New Zealand.

Former Australian coach and Test batsman Geoff Marsh, former Australian captain Greg Chappell and John Wright are the frontrunners for the job.

"We have called all the three for discussion with board officials in the afternoon of October 23 at Chennai," Muthiah said.

Reacting to reports that Marsh has withdrawn from the race following family commitments, the BCCI chief said he is yet to receive any communication from him in that regard.
