West Indies announce team for Aussie tour

The West Indies have announced their squad for the forthcoming series against Australia. The Australians are within striking distance of breaking the West Indian record for most consecutive wins in test matches.

Notable omission from the squad is Ricardo Powell, who is regarded as an one-day specialist. Marlon Black, a right arm fast medium bowler makes an appearance instead.

Courtney Walsh, the great West Indian fast bowler, is virtually assured of being the first bowler to break the magical 500 wickets barrier.

The West Indies will play five Tests against Australia and compete in a triangular one-day tournament also involving Zimbabwe during the tour.

The Squad:

  *JC Adams
  MI Black
  CO Browne
  SL Campbell
  S Chanderpaul
  M Dillon
  D Ganga
  WW Hinds
  +RD Jacobs
  KCB Jeremy
  BC Lara
  NAM McLean
  MV Nagamootoo
  RR Sarwan
  CEL Stuart
  CA Walsh
