India consider one-day series in Australia

India may travel to Australia in September for a three-match one-day series, an Indian cricket official said on Thursday.

"We received an invitation from the Australian board four days ago. It is under consideration," Jaywant Lele, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, said at Baroda.

A C Muthaih and J Y Lele "We will take a final decision in our Working Committee meeting on April 24," he added.

Lele said the Australian board had proposed matches on September 10, 12 and 14, with two games at Melbourne's Colonial Stadium and one in Brisbane.

The Melbourne stadium has a retractable roof and first hosted international cricket indoors last year when South Africa travelled to Australia for a one-day series.

Australia's 51-day tour of India ended last week, with the visitors losing the test series 2-1 but winning the one-dayers 3-2.
