Hutton opens with century
Ben Hutton, the grandson of English cricket great Sir Len Hutton, scored the
first century of the new English season.
The 24-year-old Hutton, whose father Richard also played
for England, made 133 for Middlesex against Oxford
University on Monday in a traditional curtain-raiser before
the county campaign gets under way on Friday.
It was Hutton's maiden first-class century, scored from
148 balls.
Yorkshireman Sir Len made 129 hundreds in his career
between 1934-55, including a career-best of 364 against
Australia in 1938, the third highest individual Test score of
all time.
