SA call up spinner Bodi to ODI squad

South Africa called up 22-year-old spinner Gulam Bodi to their squad on Wednesday for the one-day series against the West Indies.

The left-arm wrist spinner has been called in to replace the injured Nicky Boje.

Nicky Boje "Gulam has had a very good season and he deserves his selection," Rushdi Magiet, the convenor of selectors said.

"The team needs a spinner who can bat and he has done that job very well for KwaZulu-Natal during the season."

Bodi took 18 wickets in South Africa's domestic one-day competition this season at an average of 22.27, with a best of five for 46. He scored 283 runs in the competition -- including a highest score of 106 -- at an average of 25.72.

Bodi is currently playing club cricket in the Lancashire League in England and will fly from there to Jamaica on Sunday to join up with the squad.
