'Missing' Indian players
safe in Australia

The five Indian cricket players, who reportedly disappeared after landing in Adelaide on March 25 for a two-week coaching stint, are safe, according to family sources.

The players, all hailing from Thrissur in Kerala and members of the Mangalore-based Karavali Cricket Club, are presently staying with a friend and are in search of jobs, a member of the family said.

The five -- Faizi, Sebi, Biju M A, Joephi and Thomas -- had left for Adelaide to undergo coaching at the Commonwealth Bank Australian Cricket Academy there.

Family sources said no formal complaint was lodged with the police in Kerala or with the cricket academy in Adelaide as they were informed by the boys that they would most likely stay back after the two-week stint at the academy.

The friend, Jose, with who the boys are staying is also from Thrissur. He had gone to Adelaide a few years ago on a similar coaching stint and settled down there, the sources added.
