Ganguly retained captain for
Zimbabwe tour

As expected, Sourav Ganguly will lead India on its tour of Zimbabwe from May 27.

The selection committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, which met in Baroda on Saturday, took "two minutes" to arrive at the decision, BCCI secretary Jaywant Lele said.

"No other name was considered by the selectors," Lele informed.

India will play two Tests with Zimbabwe followed by a triangular one-day series also involving the West Indies on the tour.

All the selectors -- Madan Lal, Ashok Malhotra, Sanjay Jagdale and T Shekhar -- were present at the selection committee meeting.

On Sunday, Ganguly will join the selectors to pick 22 probables for the tour, Lele said.

Those selected will attend a five-day conditioning camp at Bangalore from May 13. The final team will be selected on May 18 and it will leave for Zimbabwe on May 24.

The Indians will also play two side games against CPX Academy, at Harare, from May 28 to 30, and Zimbabwe A, at Mutare, from June 2 to 4.

The first Test will be played in Harare, from June 7 to 11, while the second will be played at Bulawayo from June 15 to 19.

The triangular series will be held from June 23 to July 7.
