Bradman caps for 4 Indians

Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar are among four Indian cricketers who received special caps on Friday in honour of Sir Don Bradman, who died in February.

Vangipurappu Laxman and Harbhajan Singh have also been awarded baggy maroon caps with golden and yellow stripes with the Australian's image embroidered, issued in honour of Bradman's first club, St George in Sydney.

Batsman Laxman and off-spinner Harbhajan played a big part in India's 2-1 Test series win over Australia last month.

Laxman struck an Indian record 281 to lead his side to victory in the second test in Calcutta after they had been forced to follow on. Harbhajan took 32 wickets in the series.

Ganguly was presented with his cap by representatives of an Australian company dealing with Bradman memorabilia in the eastern city of Calcutta on Friday.

"It is indeed a great honour to receive this special cap," Ganguly was quoted as saying.

Ganguly and Tendulkar will donate Indian caps for an exhibition to be held at the New South Wales state library in August.
