Ganguly fined for verbal outburst

Sourav Ganguly, already in trouble for dissent, was fined for a verbal outburst during his team's one-day triangular tournament win over Sri Lanka, team manager A.N. Mathe said on Thursday.

Mathe said Ganguly has been fined 75 percent of his match fee "for bringing the game into Sourav Gangulydisrepute" when he was seen yelling at Russel Arnold after trapping the Sri Lankan batsman lbw on Wednesday.

"Match referee Cammie Smith told me he was being fined 75 percent of his match fee," Mathe said.

India won the game by 46 runs and now need to beat New Zealand on Thursday to advance into Sunday's final against Sri Lanka.

Ganguly served a one-match suspension after showing dissent in an earlier match against New Zealand last week.
