Inzamam to sue British daily

Pakistan vice captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has said he is not guilty of match-fixing and would sue Britain's Daily Telegraph for making the allegations.

The South Asian Dispatch Agency (SADA) quoted Haq as saying: "I have never been involved in match-fixing and Daily Telegraph has dragged me into this controversy unnecessarily."

He said after a practise session at the National Stadium here: "I am in consultation with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and will sue them shortly."

The British daily has for the last one-and-a-half months been carrying reports accusing Haq of being one of the main suspects in match fixing.

He said: "My name has never been linked to this controversy and Telegraph's allegations have put me under pressure and it can affect my showings in the future. If anybody has any proof against me, I am ready to face any inquiry."

Haq said he was waiting to play India in Pakistan. "I am waiting for India to come here because I want to perform against them. My record is not very good against them and now I want to improve it."
