No time frame for my return: Tendulkar
Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar is feeling better after successfully undergoing treatment for his injured right toe in South Africa. But he did not specify a time frame for his return to international cricket.
Tendulkar, who arrived in Bombay on Saturday morning after consulting South African arthroscopic surgeon Dr Mark Fergusson told reporters that has to try out some inner soles (in the shoes) which has been prescribed by Fergusson.
"My injury does not need treatment as such. But that part(right toe) has to be rested for some more time," he said.
"I don't want to predict the amount of time it will take (to return to active cricket)," Tendulkar said.
"The pain has reduced but I will have to continue wearing the newly-prescribed shoes which cushions the injured part," the maestro added.
On Friday, Fergusson had said that Tendulkar would be fit to play in an exhibition match scheduled in London on September 18 and "by the time the tour to South Africa starts (in October), he should be ready to play in Test matches".
Tendulkar had injured his toe in the triangular series in Zimbabwe while playing the last league match against the West Indies on July 4 and has missed the ongoing tour of Sri Lanka.
He went for treatment to South Africa after his teammates Anil Kumble and Javagal Srinath, who were successfully treated by Dr Fergusson, suggested the South African surgeon's name.
