Laxman to lead India A

The Indian selectors on Monday announced in Bombay that V.V.S. Laxman will lead the India A team against the visiting Australians, at Nagpur, from February 17-19

Besides a couple of certainties for the senior team that will play the Test matches, the 14-member squad is truly the best of India's reserve players, something that hasn't always happened in the past.

The team also features two players -- Gagan Khoda and Javed Zaman -- who are not in the list of 25 probables for the tour.

The squad:

V.V.S. Laxman (Hyderabad)
S. Ramesh (Tamil Nadu)
Shiv Sunder Das (Orissa)
Gagan Khoda (Rajasthan)
Dinesh Mongia (Punjab)
Hemang Badani (Tamil Nadu)
Mohammed Kaif (Uttar Pradesh)
Nayan Mongia (Baroda)
Rahul Sanghvi (Delhi)
Harbhajan Singh (Punjab)
Balaji Rao (Tamil Nadu)
Debashish Mohanty (Orissa)
Ashish Nehra (Delhi)
Javed Zaman (Assam)
