Lanka make it 4-0 against Kiwis

Sri Lanka won the fourth one-day international against New Zealand when bad light stopped play on Thursday, to take a 4-0 lead into the final match.

The Duckworth-Lewis system came into force and under it Sri Lanka were declared winners having already passed the required 151 total in the 31st over at the end of which play was called off with Sri Lanka on 155 for five.

The game had been reduced to 35 overs-a-side when rain delayed play until mid-afternoon. New Zealand had scored 182 for nine with skipper Stephen Fleming at last getting among the runs with 67.

Sanath Jayasuriya and Romesh Kaluwitharana produced a 96-run opening partnership for Sri Lanka before both went in the same Nathan Astle over, Jayasuriya for 52 and Kaluwitharana 34.

Two wickets in a Daryl Tuffey over, the 25th, gave New Zealand some hope, but in the end the light beat them.
