Cammie Smith is match referee for Aussie series

Former West Indian Test star Cammie Smith is the International Cricket Council match referee for the India-Australia series, starting next month.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has also appointed umpires Dr B K Sadashiv of Karnataka and S V Ramani of Tamil Nadu to officiate in the tour opener, three-day tie, between Australia and India 'A', to be held at Baroda, from February 17 to 19, a BCCI release said on Wednesday.

A M Saheba of Gujarat and Dr M S Mahal of Punjab will officiate in the second three-day match between the visitors and Ranji champions Mumbai, at the Brabourne stadium, from February 22 to 24.

Sanjeev Rao of Madhya Pradesh and S Banerjee of Bengal are the two umpires for the third three-day match between the Aussies and the Board President's XI, to be held in Delhi, from March 6 to 8.

The Australians will play three Test matches and five one-day internationals, for which the umpires were named after the BCCI working committee meeting, at Delhi on Monday.

The Aussies are expected to arrive in India on February 14.
