East beat South by four wickets

East Zone defeated South Zone by four wickets on the third day of the four-day Duleep Trophy cricket match at M B B stadium in Agartala.

East resumed their innings after Friday's overnight score of 71 for two and wrapped up the match in the very first over after lunch, racing to 170 for 6.

A solid knock of 79 runs from captain Shiv Sundar Das, studded with 11 boundaries, helped East outplay South.

Das faced 184 balls during his 243-minute stay at the wicket.

Dip Dasgupta (32) and Sukhbinder Singh (22) remained unbeaten.

Following the victory, East gained eight points and will clash with West Zone, at Rajkot next month.
