PCB denies sacking of selectors

The Pakistan Cricket Board has denied a Reuters report that it has sacked the selection committee headed by former captain Wasim Bari.

A PBC statement said "the present selection committee will continue to work till such time a new one is appointed" and that no decision on the chairmanship of the committee has yet been taken.

The PCB said on Sunday that PCB chairman Tauqir Zia had dissolved a board advisory council to replace it with five committees, including a selection committee to be headed by an honorary chairman and paid selectors.

But it said the present selection committee members would continue to function until the new committee was named.

Reuters reported on Monday that Zia had already dissolved it and sacked Wasim Bari.
