Ganguly to lead
Board President's XI

In an obvious attempt to get some badly needed match practice ahead of the crucial second Test in Calcutta, India captain Sourav Ganguly will lead the Board President's XI against the visiting Australians in the three-day cricket match, at Delhi, from March 6 to 8.

Delhi's wicketkeeper-batsman Vijay Dahiya, who was originally named captain of the Board President's XI will now be Ganguly's deputy in the match, said Board of Control for Cricket in India vice-president C K Khanna, who is also vice-president of the Delhi and District Cricket Association.

In the first Test, which ended in a ten-wicket comprehensive defeat of India on the third day, in Bombay, on Thursday, Ganguly's contribution with the bat was a total of just nine runs, eight in the first innings and one in the second.

The Calcutta Test starts on March 11, followed by the third and final Test in Madras on March 18.
