Croft and Vaas reprimanded

Sri Lanka's Chaminda Vaas and England's Robert Croft were both severely reprimanded on Monday for an on-field collision during their second one-day international won by the hosts.

The two players collided halfway down the pitch after Croft hit a single off Vaas during Sunday's one-day international.

Match referee Hanumant Singh said in a statement that he decided to issue the severe reprimand after hearing the evidence put forward by the players.

Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan was fined 65 per cent of his match fee and given a suspended ban for dissent during Sri Lanka's win in the first one-day international.

The third and final one-day game is in Colombo on Tuesday. England won the Test series 2-1 earlier this month.
