Sharandeep replaces Sunil Joshi

Punjab off-spinner Sharandeep Singh was on Saturday included in the Indian team for the last two matches of the one-day series against Australia.

In the only change to the 14-member side, which won the third ODI at Indore by 118 runs, Sharandeep replaces Sunil Joshi, who played in the second match at Pune. Joshi went wicketless and scored 19 runs in the match.

Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Jaywant Lele, who announced the team during the third one-day international at Indore, said Punjab youngster Reetinder Singh Sodhi will be included in the team for the Sharjah tournament if the trip is cleared by the government.

"There is no information yet. If the Indian government agrees to send the team for the tri-nation tournament in Sharjah then Reetinder Singh Sodhi will be included along with another spinner, to be named later," he said.

He also announced India's other engagements for 2001, which include with a tour to Zimbabwe, from June 2 to July 3.

The team will then tour Sri Lanka, from July 16 to September 3, and South Africa, from October 15 to November 20. England will come to India in November, he informed.

The team:

Sourav Ganguly (captain), Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, V V S Laxman, Hemang Badani, Dinesh Mongia, Yuvraj Singh, Vijay Dahiya, Ajit Agarkar, Robin Singh, Javagal Srinath, Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh, Sharandeep Singh.
