Laxman, Harbhajan sign up with Australian firm

Heroes of India's 2-1 Test series triumph over Australia, Vangipurappu Laxman and Harbhajan Singh have signed up with an Australian sports management firm to manage their careers.

Laxman (L) and Harbhajan Singh with Neil Maxwell, Chief Executive Officer of Sporting Frontiers.Sporting Frontiers announced in Bombay they had signed up middle-order batsman Laxman, who scored 503 runs in the series, and off-spinner Singh, who captured 32 wickets.

"We will invest in the futures of these two players. We will develop them as brands and people," Neil Maxwell, the company's chief executive, told reporters at a conference on Friday.

Sporting Frontiers India was launched in February.

Australian captain Steve Waugh is a non-executive director of the company, which has offices in 11 countries including South Africa, Britain and New Zealand.
