Seamers will hold the key in Zimbabwe: Ganguly

India skipper Sourav Ganguly says his fast bowlers will have a key role to play during the forthcoming series against Zimbabwe.

The elegant left-hander, who led the country to a remarkable 2-1 victory over the visiting Australians recently, said the wickets in Zimbabwe could favour the fast bowlers, who will have to deliver the goods.

"Our fast bowlers will have an important role to play as they are expected to get some assistance from the conditions. This is the area we have to work on," Ganguly told reporters in Calcutta on Friday night.

Ganguly, who is eyeing an 'away' win, said wicketkeeping is another area which needs attention.

"We have been looking for someone who can bat as well," he said.

On Bengal wicketkeeper Deep Dasgupta, who is among the probables, Ganguly did not comment, saying he had seen him in just one match.

Bombay's Samir Dighe and Haryana's Ajay Ratra are two other wicketkeepers among the probables for the Zimbabwe tour.

The captain, however, expressed confidence that his batsmen would do well on the tour.

"We have a very good batting line-up. It is one of the best in the world," he added.
