S Africa A v India tour match abandoned

The four day tour match between South Africa A and India was abandoned without a ball bowled on Monday, the scheduled third day.

The first two days' play were abandoned due to overnight rain and rain on Monday morning finally condemned the match to its fate.

The India team will move on to Port Elizabeth later on Monday to prepare for the second Test against South Africa at St George's Park starting on Friday.

India's only other first class tour match, in Chatsworth against a President's XI before the first Test, was also entirely washed out.

The tourists went on to lose the first Test in Bloemfontein by nine wickets.
