Donald left out of ODI squad

Speedster Allan Donald has been left out of the 12-member South African squad, announced today, for the first two matches of the triangular one-day series with India and Kenya starting October 5.

All the 12 players selected were part of the South African team that blanked Zimbabwe 3-0 in a One-Day series recently. Nicky Boje is the another notable exclusion from the side that will play against India here on Friday and Kenya in Benoni on Sunday.

Both Donald and Boje missed the Zimbabwe tour due to injuries and convenor of national selectors Rushdie Magiet said they had been left out because they were short of match practice.

Boje is also yet to recover completely from a knee injury. Boeta Dippenaar too failed to make it to the squad after a disappointing tour of Zimbabwe.

The squad: Shaun Pollock (captain), Gary Kirsten, Herschelle Gibbs, Jacques Kallis, Neil McKenzie, Jonty Rhodes, Lance Klusener, Mark Boucher, Justin Kemp, Claude Hendersdon, Makhaya Ntini, Andre Nel.
